ABOUT DR. ANAND JADHAV

  • Dr Anand Jadhav is a Senior Orthopaedic Surgeon in Pune city with vast experience of 28 years. He is a Specialist in ‘Joint Replacements, Arthroscopic Surgeries & Sports Injuries’ .

  • He is a full-time Senior Consultant & Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at the newly launched Manipal Hospital in Baner, Pune since May 2022.

  • He completed under-graduate medical studies in Pune from the renowned and prestigious Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Medical College (BJMC, Pune) and acquired the degree of MBBS from the University of Pune.

  • Dr Jadhav has always been a keen sportsman himself and hence decided to pursue a career in Orthopaedic Surgery after his graduation.

  • He successfully completed his Orthopaedic Residency Training from the world famous Wanless Hospital (Mission Hospital) in Miraj. He stood first in the examination for the certificate of Diploma in Orthopaedics (D.Ortho) from the Shivaji University, Kolhapur.

  • Dr Jadhav then got selected for ‘Higher Surgical Training’ in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery’ in the United Kingdom through the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1995. He started his higher surgical training and further orthopaedic studies in the UK under the expert guidance of Professor David Rowley at the Dundee Royal Infirmary & the Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.

  • Dr Jadhav passed his final examination with distinction in 1996 and obtained the prestigious M. Ch Orth Degree from the University of Dundee, UK.

  • He further continued his higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery under the guidance of several renowned and experienced surgeons, across various regions and hospitals in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS).

  • He worked in the UK in the NHS for 12 years and acquired highly specialised orthopaedic training in his beloved and chosen sub-specialities of ‘Joint Replacements & Arthroscopic Surgeries’ of upper & lower limb joints.

  • Dr Jadhav acquired the prestigious degree of FRCS from the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Glasgow in 1999.

  • He completed additional Fellowships in ‘Joint Replacements, Arthroscopic Surgeries & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine’ from the leading surgeons, at renowned hospitals across the UK, the USA, Germany, France, Netherlands, and Singapore.

  • Dr Jadhav returned to India in January 2007 and started his private practice in Pune as a Specialist for ‘Joint Replacements, Arthroscopic Surgeries & Sports Injuries’.

  • He has helped in establishing the Orthopaedic Departments & Specialised Services of ‘Joint Replacements & Arthroscopic Surgeries’ at the following hospitals:
    - Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Chinchwad, Pune (2007)
    - Prime Surgical Centres, Off Law College Road, Pune (2013)
    - Apollo Spectra Hospitals, near Saras Bagh, Pune (2015)
    - Manipal Hospital in Baner, Pune (2022)

  • Thousands of patients, in India and across the globe, have benefitted from getting their surgeries done by Dr Anand Jadhav at various hospitals.

  • Dr Jadhav is actively involved in training of junior orthopaedic surgeons. He leads a 12 months duration Fellowship Training Programme in ‘Joint Replacements & Arthroscopy’
    He also gets invited as a Faculty Member for various teaching courses across India.

  • First Surgeon in India to use a Reverse Shoulder Joint Prosthesis for revision of failed upper humerus fracture fixation - Feb 2011

  • Appointed as Players’ Doctor for all the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket matches held at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Gahunje, Pune - April & May 2012 Treated several international and national cricketers from the Pune IPL team as well as other visiting IPL teams.
